Some companies decide to send customers a free newsletter to get an email list. But there are other ways to collect email addresses. Sometimes having a newsletter just doesn’t make any sense for your company. For instance, if you happen to sell dishwashers, how much information could you send your customer, daily, on dishwashers? So, instead here are a few other options for increasing your email list.

You could run a contest. The puzzle, game or task should be easy and straightforward so that you don’t frustrate the customer and you still get their email address in the end.
A great incentive to collect email addresses would be a free eBook. People love getting free stuff, especially eBooks that interest them. Remember, it doesn’t have to be 100 pages long; five to ten pages will work fine.

Surveying the customer is a great way to collect email addresses. You can find out what the customer likes/dislikes, and what they have problems with or need solutions for.

Allright, here's how you can do it. Create other websites that compliment your main website. If you have a website about health, you could make small article websites about different health problems. Use some good private-label content to get started. Take about 15 to 20 articles for each site and spend some time rewriting them and then put together 10 or 15 small article websites.

Then write two or three articles for each site to submit to article sites. Make sure to have links on your new sites leading to your main website. By putting together several small sites and promoting them with articles, you can increase your link popularity to your main site. This will also help you get more traffic to your products and services.

Hi, just to spread a another web service available to help you in Internet Marketing thing. Have You heard about Freecycle yet? Or have you try Freecycle yet?

Freecycle is a great organization that freely gives away items that are no longer needed by people in your community. The Freecycle Network is made up of 4,751 groups with 6,757,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. There is most likely a Freecycle group for your town or county.

It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Hundreds of items are given away each day within my local group. Many people will argue that items Freecycle should not be sold under any circumstance, but I find that many people looking to get rid of their stuff honestly don't care what happens to it. These people just want it gone!

That said, I don't think this method could or should be used for long-term income generating... but if you're in a desperate money crunch and see an opportunity here, it's worth a one-time shot.

Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer. Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box.
Join your local group or groups, and spend a while viewing what's being given away. Smaller items such as books are a great item to resell. Sometimes people give away several boxes of books at a time. If you find just ten books that fetch $10 each, that's $100 profit! You can sell them for free locally on Craigslist.org or of course on eBay. Offer at a great low price and you could see cash today!

You may turn many otherwise interested parties off by listing price. Of course the flip side is you can do the same by not posting price.
Posting on Craigslist is easy. First, go to the main page, and scroll up to the left-hand corner where you will see a link to “Post to Classifieds.” Next, you will want to select the proper category to post your classified ad in. Most people will search for advertisements by category, so be sure you put your ad in the right category. And don’t worry too much if you don’t… you can always change the category you originally selected. Posting your ad in the right place will maximize your potential for exposure.
As with anything, Craigslist has its rules, regulations and limits. You need to follow these carefully so your ad does not become accidentally banned from placement on the board. If your violation is severe, the “List” will ban you from posting in the future. Here is a condensed version of some of the more common rules:
Do not post the same item twice without first deleting the matching material
  • If you plan to post in different cities or different categories, be sure to remove old posts before placing new ones.
  • If you want to place posts in several categories you will have to rotate your posts. Some people get around this rule by posting ads using different accounts and e-mail addresses. Just be aware if someone discovers your actions, you may be reported and you will lose your ad permanently.

Make sure you post an item only one time in any given 48-hour period

  • That is the exact timeframe the “List” tracks. You should always give your ad a couple of days to circulate to determine its effectiveness. see what the response to your ad is. Craigslist is also terrific way to test multiple ads to see which one brings in the most traffic. However, if you post the same ad before your 48-hour term ends, the ad will expire at the end of the initial 48-hour period.

Make sure you do not post ads with links to commercial or auction websites

  • This is a no-no! It seems like the “List” would be a great place to set up links to your products and services, right? Truthfully, the “List” does not allow this type of advertising. Now, I am sure you are scratching your head wondering, “How am I supposed to make money if I can’t link to my site?” Good question. The answer is easy.
  • While this rule isn’t one community members check up on often, you want to make sure you do things right to avoid penalty, especially if you are new to the “List”. One way to get around this rule is to provide your e-mail address. Interested parties can e-mail you, and then you can send them the link to your commercial website. This is an excellent way to produce leads without violating the lists rules or terms of use.

Craigslist makes it easy for users to post. You can have people contact you by phone or even by anonymous e-mail, where users click a link allowing them to respond to your ad and their message is forwarded to the e-mail account you appoint.

Here are some other unique features Craigslist has to offer consumers:

  • You can use plain text or HTML to design your ad. Web addresses are automatically converted to links to matter which format you use so be careful.
  • Feel free to add any photographs that will enhance your post. Remember a picture is worth a thousand words.
  • You can use free software programs to enhance your ad and improve the odds someone reads it. Many companies have programs available that convert craigslist HTML code into full-color images. We’ll talk more about this in the FAQ section.

How To Get Started Making Your Own Banners

I'm out of topic to discuss about today so I think this topic might help some of my readers. If you are already good at graphic design and producing gif and jpeg files etc then you dont need this tips!! You will however need to have your own website - not a free version, but a paid domain - to take advantage of banners, simply because you cant host the banners you have created otherwise.

There is a simple way to create your own basic banners by using MSPaint, which is already installed automatically on your computer. In this section I want to give you some hints as to how you can start doing it right away.

You will find the MSPaint program by clicking on Start: Programs --> Accessories-->Paint. Once you have the program open we can get started!! The steps to create a banner are as follows:-

1) Set the banner size - to do this click on image: attributes. You will then get a dialogue box which has 2 input boxes for width and height. For a standard banner you need 468 by 60. Where the dialogue box says "units" you want pixels, and where it says "colours" you want colors. When these setting are correct simply click OK. You should now have a blank banner which will be in white.

2) Color In Your Background. Its a good idea to colour the banner in with whatever color will be your background. For example if we are going to have a yellow background then - choose a color from the color box at the bottom of the screen, there are 2 rows of 14 colors. Once you have selected a color, click the "fill" button - this is the 2nd button down in the right hand column of buttons.

After you have clicked this button, go across to your banner with your mouse, and click anywhere you like and the banner will be filled with the color you have selected. You will notice the "fill" button image follows you onto the banner. You should have now have a banner with the background color set

3) Set The Border. Next we need to set up the border of the banner to make it stand out a bit. If you have a yellow background then you need something like red or black as a border color.

To do the border we need the following steps: Select View: Zoom: Custom - then click on 400% - this just makes the banner a bit bigger so we can see what we are doing. Select View: Zoom: Show Grid - or CNTRL G for short - this simple displays a grid to help us only color in the right cells we need.
Now we need to select the right color for the border - go to the bottom of the screen and select the color you want. Now to insert the color we need, roughly, about 2 cells of the grid from the edge of the banner. We need to color these in with the color we have selected. The quickest way to do this is to use the "brush" tool - this looks like a paint brush and is the 4th box down on the right hand side.
Now you need to be careful because there are lots of thicknesses of the "brush" so we need to select the right thickness. You will see some thicknesses appear lower down the screen in a box - the one you want is the 2nd one down and 3 across. This just looks like a dot but its perfect to cover a thickness 2 cells with in the grid. You can now go to the banner and run your mouse along the top, bottom and sides of the banner and you will have a good border We should now have our banner set up with a background and a border. All we need now is the text.

4) Add Some Text. To enter text click the "A" tool. This will give you a kind of cross as you mouse. Simply go to the top left hand corner of your banner and drag the text tool across so you have an area for your first line of text. This will give you a white background - often we don't want to disturb the banner background so you click on the button lower down the screen, after all the tools, which has some boxes in it - you want the second one down - this will change the background of your text to the color we have already set as the background for the banner.

You can now select the font you want for your text and the color. Note: you can only do one line of text at a time.

Tips: You might find the text and space gets a bit cramped if you have several lines - this will definitely happen if you have more than 2 lines of text. To overcome this problem simply select the text you have entered with the "select" tool - this tool is right at the top on the right hand side and has dotted lines round a box shape.

When you have selected your text, click Edit: Copy To - this will copy the text as a file on its own. You can then paste different lines of text into the banner by clicking Edit: Paste From.

Its often a good idea to set the banner background and border and then before doing anything else simply save it as mybannerformat.bmp. If you make a mistake and need to delete some text, the easiest way is to use the "select" tool - right at the top on the right hand side - and draw round the text and press the delete key on your keyboard. To move text that is not quite in the right position, simply use the select tool to draw round it and then move it. However you need to change the box below all the tools, from the second box selected to the first one. Otherwise you will find part of your text will disappear when you move it.

A useful idea is try and get the banner to integrate into the color scheme of the place where you will advertise it e.g. use the same background as the site where you will advertise it. This is because the best banners are those which don't look like a banner. If your banner just looks like a text ad then you probably get more clicks on it .

When you are happy with your banner then don't forget to save it MSPaint saves everything as a BMP file - this stands for windows bitmap. To use it on the web you must convert it to a gif or JPG file. To do this you need a FREE image converter program.

The best one I have found is IrvanView. This is a really good little program and is freeware, it will convert anything to lots of file formats so is perfect to convert you BMP file into a GIF or JPG. Once the file is converted you can use it in any web page and list it on Traffic Exchanges and start advertising your banner and getting all important "targeted traffic".

Adding "Wording" To A Banner Background Or Template

If you already have a "plain" banner, or "plain" header graphic i.e. a graphic with no writing on it, you can use IrvanView to easily add the text you want. You will find various packages where you can buy plain banner or header graphics where you just add the text yourself

With IrvanView you simply open up the plain image or template you have and then select an area where you want the text to appear, and then the program gives you a box for you to type in the text and bingo your words will appear. You can decide what type of font you want, the color and the size, and then you can just save the completed image, ready for uploading to your web space.

One of the toughest areas to understand, for the new Internet Marketer, is finding a niche and profiting from it. There are the challenges of competition, saturation, "freebie seekers" vs. buyers, seasonal trends, customer profiles, prices to charge, etc. Even the matter of what day of the week to make an offer is different from market to market.

Market research begins with finding a ready pool of buyers. It's relatively easy to attract people to a source of information, if it's free. Driving hungry buyers, with wads of cash to spend right now, to an offer they "don't refuse" is a skill that takes knowledge and practice. It all starts with locating active buyers. Never make the mistake of trying to sell something that people don't want. Go to where people are already spending money and help them spend some more.

The best place for the novice to begin (and the expert to expand) is people who are desperate. Remember, these people are either hurting or greedy and have a powerful emotional drive to spend NOW. There is one rule you need to follow with this type of market - deliver the goods. In fact, make a point of over delivering on your promises to them. You'll create a customer that will happily send more customers your way, via word of mouth advertising or your own affiliate program for your product or service.

Beyond desperate buyers, there are the folks with money to burn and a need for the best. Some of the most profitable online businesses serve rich individuals (and companies with big budgets) with exclusive products and services. One pair of designer sunglasses can retail for thousands of dollars. One corporate account for holiday gift giving can net you enough money to buy as many pairs of designer sunglasses as you could possibly want. Consider the luxury market when investigating niches. The amount of money spent in these niches is disproportionately large, when compared to the total amount of money spent online.
Finally, there's your personal passion. If you love fishing, needlework, dogs, rock climbing, post cards or any of the hobbies and interests that appeal to other people, there's a way to "monetize" that hobby for fun and profit. You can create an Authority site, a monthly membership site, deliver products and services in your niche or simply blog about it and put up advertising that appeals to your readers. By exploring the Internet for others who share your passion (and are making a buck doing it), you can begin to develop an idea that could become an excellent source of income for you.

The bottom line in Market Research is locating a market of buyers FIRST. Don't put the cart before the horse, here. You may have what you think is the greatest idea since the invention of round, wheel-like thingies, but will sadly discover that no one wants to buy one from you. Maybe you've seen this but I have just discover a very nice new tool provided by Google that can help you with your Niche and subniche keywords research.In case you missed it, Google has just released a cool new set of tools on it’s search pages called Wonder Wheels.

You can find Wonder Wheels by doing your basic search as usual. For example, key in the keywords "gemstones" on the search bar. When the result came up, click "show option" right under the Google Logo at the left of the search box.

Scroll down and you will see a link called "Wonder Wheel". Click on it. Isn't it interesting? It is like a mindmapping tools, that is very useful to users.

Now is when its gets more exciting. Can you see the spokes on the wheel? It came with few terms or you can call it "subniche". Click on one of the spokes on the wheel. New terms come out and its goes on as you click on every of the spokes. Now you can do your keyword research on your niche related to your first search term for my example, "gemstones" using Wonder Wheels.

PPC, (pay per click marketing) is a common method in which to promote CPA programs, as it's more effective and can yield faster results than free promotional methods such as article marketing, SEO to landing pages, or banner/text advertisements. When done correctly, PPC marketing combined with high paying/highconverting CPA offers can be an absolute goldmine.
In order to utilize the effectiveness and vast outreach that PPC marketing provides, you will want to take advantage of a handful of keyword tools, available to you, which I just covered in my previous post. While there are many different PPC marketplaces available online, the top two that I recommend you focus on are Google Adwords and Yahoo Marketing.
If you aren't familiar with Google Adwords, it's very easy to understand and if you use the Google search engine for personal searches, you are already familiar with the marketplace layout.Visit Google and enter in a keyword string.

Adwords ads are the results that appear under the "Sponsored Listings" on the right hand side of the search results window, as well as the ones that are highlighted above the search results.
These are advertisements that PPC marketers using the Adwords system have created. They appear in block format and feature an ad title, two lines of ad copy, and a link that directs readers to their landing page. Advertisers can create as many advertising blocks (and campaigns) as they wish and by bidding on keywords, their advertisements will appear within different positions.

Before you create your account and dive right in, there are also a few things you should know in terms of PPC terminology. These are phrases and words used throughout the PPC marketing community and include:
  • PPC - Pay Per Click
  • CTR - Click Through RateLanding or Squeeze Page
  • CPC - Cost Per Click
CTR, your click-through rate is a very important aspect of your PPC marketing campaigns and we will discuss that in great detail in a future Post. The landing page or squeeze page is simply the place that you direct your visitors to, those who see your ad and click on your link. CPC, Cost Per Click is the amount that you are paying for every click on your ad.
When it comes to setting up your PPC account, there are a handful of steps that are required in order to have everything up and running successfully including:
  • Create/Compile a list of relevant keywords
  • Customize your account and profile areas.
  • Create your campaigns and assign specific keywords.
  • Create your ad copy, titles, link, body.
  • Create an effective landing/squeeze page in which to direct visitors.

Once you have your PPC campaigns set up, you then need to monitor, split test and consistently tweak your campaigns until they are producing the best results at the lowest cost possible.

Within each campaign that we create, we target it towards specific keywords that are entered into Google's search engine by potential customers. These keywords are grouped together and assigned to each campaign that we select. For example, if I were promoting a CPA offer that offered a free magazine subscription to Vogue, I would create a campaign for this specific offer and then collectively compile a list of keywords that I have researched and determined to be popular phrases entered into search engines by my target customer base.

These keywords need to be direct and highly relevant in order to yield the best results, which is why keyword research is such a critical aspect of successful PPC and CPA marketing. The higher my maximum bid, the higher placement my advertisements will receive. Google does not charge us for our advertisements appearing within the marketplace, but only when a potential customer clicks on one of our links.


There are advertisers who focus on getting the top position for all of their advertisements and this isn't always the wise way to do business on sites like Adwords. In fact, advertisers who were positioned in the second or even third spot placement within the Sponsored Listings area have claimed to have generated equal exposure but at a fraction of the cost. Since your daily budget will reflect the number of prospects you are able to drive to your website, it's very important to get the most out of each click, and to focus on gaining top exposure without paying top dollar.


If you were to enter in $20.00 as your daily budget, and ended up paying $.10 for every click your advertisement received, you will receive 200 clicks (or website visits) before your daily budget has been depleted. When this happens, your advertisements will no longer appear within Google’s marketplace until the next day,when your daily budget is reset.


It's very important to stay on top of how well your campaigns are performing as well, because two very similarly written advertisements can yield incredibly different results, perhaps because of the ad body being slightly different, or the title garnering more attention.

Each PPC advertising consists of four important elements:

  • Ad Title
  • Ad Body
  • Display URL
  • Destination URL


When it comes to your ad title (or headline), you want to use a title that is compelling and will attract attention. This isn't the time for witty titles that may confuse your viewer. If you are just starting out in Adwords, you want your title to be as clear and direct as possible so that anyone reading it will clearly understand what it is that you are offering within seconds. Make sure that your headline flows with your actual ad copy as well.


When it comes to your ad copy, you want to do your best to integrate a few of your primary keywords into the body of your advertisement. Whenever you do this, the keywords that the visitor entered into the search engine (that triggered your ad to appear in the first place) will appear bold within your advertisement, attracting attention. Your advertisement body is where you quickly describe what it is that you are offering. With Google Adwords (and most other PPC marketplaces), you are limited by the space that is available, so it's very important that you use these 35 characters in the best way possible. You need to highlight the benefits of your product, service or website and compel those who are reading your ad to click on your link to explore your website.Once again, going simple and direct is the less risky and often top producing tactic to follow. Be sure to trim down your advertisement so that it only includes the primary keywords that describe your offer. Focus on using 'action based keywords'. These are words that trigger an action in a reader and prompt them to click on the link. And just like your ad title, if you utilize your primary keywords within your ad body as well, any of those keywords that were used by your reader will also be highlighted in bold.

Display URL displays the website address that, when clicked, directs people to that specific site. While this address can appear to be different than the actual destination URL, I suggest using the true URL that your visitors will be directed to. Many marketers drop the www from the Display / Destination URL so that rather than have www.yoursite.com , you simply display YourSite.com, capitalizing the separate words.

When you join CPA networks, you will often be given the opportunity to choose between a CPA or Revenue Share model.

With CPA, since you are paid one lump sum for each completed action, you must consistently work at generating new leads and prospects. For example, if you are promoting a gambling website, such as a poker gaming company, you may be paid out each time someone you refer to the poker website signs up for a free account or takes advantage of a free trial offer. Once that prospect has completed the required action, and you are paid accordingly, you will no longer earn money from that particular person and must go on to recruit and refer others in order to continue to receive payment.

With Revenue Share, you are offered a percentage or an ongoing payment plan for each prospects activity. In the example of a poker website, if you referred a user who joined the website you may be paid out a percentage of their account funding when playing the games, or a flat rate for specific amounts that your prospects spend while a member of these websites.
When you are new to CPA offers, choosing whether to join the CPA offer or the Revenue Share model can be a difficult decision to make. Many new CPA affiliates typically go with the CPA offers because they are unable to effectively gauge how valuable each referred prospect may be, and how much more money they are given the opportunity of earning from each person rather than consistently scouting our new referrals.

If you are unsure what will work best for you, start off by promoting a handful of CPA programs, and accept an equal number of Revenue Share offers. Then, spend a couple of months promoting both equally and determine which ones are yielding better results.
From that information collected, you will be able to focus primarily on the ones that generate maximum profits while weeding out any inactive or poorly converting campaigns that you are struggling to profit from. Just like you would conduct keyword research on a potential pay per click campaign that you were considering running, or in an article marketing or SEO campaign, researching keywords for CPA offers is just as important.
For our example, let's say that we were considering promoting an offer that enticed subscribers into giving out their email address for a chance at winning a free iPod touch. One great way of finding out what is currently hot is by searching Google Trend. With Google Trends, you can change the date to search results from the past, and by clicking on "More Hot Trends", you can load a lengthy page showing all recent searches. Clicking on those individual links will show the search results in a graph form over the last few days, months or even years.
What you are looking for is consistent trends and patterns in both demand and in buying behavior.
With Google Insights, you are able to determine patterns in traffic and what people are searching for. By entering in the primary keywords relating to specific CPA offers, you will be able to quickly gauge how popular an opportunity is, based on current and past keyword searches. Finding profitable CPA offers is extremely easy, but there is yet another thing to consider before simply choosing the most popular opportunities.

What you are looking for is a CPA offer with high search volume (using the Google Keyword tool) that doesn't have a lot of sponsor ads running on pay per click marketplaces, like Adwords.

While this may take some time to find, once you do, you can rest assured that you are likely to make a lot of money with these opportunities, so take some time to do your research, compiling a list of potential offers.

Once you have chosen a handful of CPA offers to promote, simply log into your CPA network accounts, make sure that your profile is up to date and includes accurate contact information, and grab your affiliate link from your account profile center.

I suggest copy and pasting your affiliate link into a browser window to ensure that it goes to the right landing page prior to launching any campaigns. You want to make sure everything is working properly so that you are credited for all of your efforts.

Do not just mark the website requirement field as N/A and fail to provide information as to your marketing campaign tactics or you will not be accepted.

Still, if possible, the easiest way to be ensure your acceptance is to simply spend a couple of hours creating a blog using a platform such as Wordpress, or one of the free web development tools available through resources such as http://www.xsitepro.com/ .

By purchasing a $8 domain and a $5 hosting account with services such as www.HostGator.com, you can easily set up a professional looking website that is sure to be accepted by any CPA network or program that you are interested in.

If you do create a website, you can apply for CPA offfers even before it begins to generate traffic by following the same format as described above, indicating that your website is new but that you purchase traffic through PPC, or media buys. This will easily explain why you do not currently have organic, natural SEO traffic to your website.

When asked how much experience you have online, which is a field often included on any CPA registration form, indicate that you have at least 1 1/2 years experience. They are interested in seasoned marketers more so than new affiliates so by indicating that you are not a newcomer and have substantial experience inonline advertising, you are likely to push the odds of being accepted in your favor.
